As an Operational Risk Capital and Stress Testing Senior Associate in Firmwide Operational Risk Capital & Stress Testing (FORCAST), you will be part of a team established to improve the Firm’s responsiveness to global regulatory requests and enhance the operational risk governance in JPMC International Legal Entities (LEs). The team has responsibility for measurement of operational risk through running Operational Risk Scenarios internationally. The outputs of the scenario analysis process are used for both regulatory purposes (capital and stress testing within ICAAP) and risk management.

The role provides exposure across multiple jurisdictions through collaboration with colleagues in UK, Americas, and APAC. Responsibilities for deliverables would primarily focus on those relating to the European Legal Entity.

Job responsibilities

  • Contributes to the execution of scenario analysis process for JPMSE Legal Entity by collecting relevant internal and external data, manages specific scenario user tools, produces quantification results, and performs benchmark and variance analysis
  • Coordinates of scenarios analysis workshops
  • Identifies relevant legal entity business data, risk and control metrics and internal and external loss data to support the scenario analysis process
  • Prepares of materials for scenarios workshops including analysing data inputs and performing necessary calculations, utilising benchmarking across legal entities where relevant
  • Builds and presents scenario outputs to a range of subject matter experts, to reach consensus and agreement on scenarios estimates
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate open information channels and to leverage existing initiatives
  • Supports the Quarterly ICAAP submission process, ensures accurate capital and stress testing calculation and reporting and compliance with local regulatory requirements
  • Assists in the development and refresh of qualitative models, including gathering and analysing data, documentation, and implementation
  • Facilitates the review and governance of models/qualitative models, works closely with model developers and the model validation team to address potential issues, and enhance model performance (including Ongoing Performance Monitoring – OPM process)
  • Collaborates closely with FORCAST team members across global hubs to aid in streamlining operational risk measurement practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strategic or project management experience with relevant business, technical or risk/control skills gained in an international financial services firm
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and experienced in data management
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to challenge, gain consensus and drive change
  • Extensive experience in Financial Services / Risk Management.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Any experience in Operational Risk, scenario analysis or model development would be highly beneficial.
