Role Description

Prime Finance is part of JP Morgan’s Equities Division. It offers a wide range of sales, execution, clearing and financing services to clients. The Equity Finance team within Prime Finance is looking for a candidate to fill an open role that spans Account management and Equity Finance based in Paris.

Within the Equity finance desk there are two elements to the role; Stock Borrow Loan (SBL) and HF coverage.

SBL focuses on managing a client’s short sale approvals, pricing and settlements covering European stocks and bond markets. The hedge fund coverage team covers our HF client base in Prime for daily financing needs and responsibilities are explained in more detail below.

– The candidate should possess some market knowledge and the ability to initiate and cultivate hedge fund and lender relationships

– They should be able to grow into all aspects of the Equity Finance sales trading team, with a specific focus on European domiciled accounts.

Role Responsibilities

  • Daily interaction with clients, existing and prospective providing them with financing coverage spanning market colour to bespoke pricing on new deals covering both cash and synthetic products.
  • Managing client positions and borrow fees to ensure that we are striking the right balance between revenue and competition
  • For existing accounts, as financing coverage, work closely with internal partners across Prime and the broader Equity Franchise
  • Work closely with the Prime Sales team to develop new client relationships and help grow the business
  • Manage and cover European client’s short positions by sourcing borrow from both an external and internal lender base.
  • Cover external lender, broker and hedge fund client relationships
  • Work closely with external and internal functional partners to ensure a well-controlled operating environment
  • Support and cultivate international equities & fixed income trading flow with a primary focus on EMEA SBL
  • Assist in maximizing the return on our long inventory via lending
  • Assist in providing market colour to clients, internal trading desks and the SBL teams globally
  • Work with Product development team to develop/enhance client facing, trading and reporting functionality
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of the role, striving for improvements whilst ensuring adherence to day-to-day business controls across legal, compliance and risk.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Previous experience of finance industry experience, preferably in a securities lending or equities role
  • Knowledge and experience of PB is a significant advantage, having industry experience with a demonstrable track record of delivery with a strong client focus.
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Understanding of EMEA markets and products – synthetics, cash products, derivatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced high volume environment
  • Self-starter with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Good MS Excel skills required (advanced)
