What does a great Senior Systems Administrator do?
As a Senior Systems Administrator you will perform system administration functions for an enterprise wide scale. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a background in Unix/Solaris and Linux Systems Administration and configuration.
- Responsible for system security and data integrity.
- Assign passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required and responds to management requests for information
- Build, configure and maintain physical and virtual servers for a large-scale Solaris platform.
- Collaborate with team members in on a regular basis to maintain consistency in design and implementation.
- Collaborate with team members of the lab supporting our system so that the environment is stable and provide notification of any concerns or outages in advance.
- Create and modify scripts as needed to automate repetitive tasks.
- Provide operational support to development and test community.
- Monitor system performance, system/security logs and identifying potential issues with systems.
Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 10+ years relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills:
- UNIX, Sun Solaris, Linux, Shell Scripting.
- Prepare, test and install OS patches for Solaris 10/11.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle hardware from entry level servers to high end servers.
- In-depth knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager.
- Experience of working with latest ZFS (file system) on Solaris 10 and Solaris 11.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities on H/W and OS.
- Familiarity on working on EMC SAN technology.
- Experience with PCI and SOC audits
- Design and maintain server build configuration for Solaris servers
- Perform patching, hardening, and automated deployments
- Analyze, identify, and resolve Incidents and problems
