Senior Manager, Public Relations – Paris 2024 Olympics & Paralympics

Coca-Cola is the proud worldwide partner of the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics Games. Our role will be to refresh all the athletes, volunteers and spectators during those 4 weeks with our loved brands, done in a sustainable way, to build a better shared future. Job summary

The Coca-Cola Paris 2024 Olympics & Paralympics external coms manager, working closely with the external coms Director, will be key in ensuring the success of our Reputation legacy and will have to:

  • Implement the External Communications Plan surrounding Coca-Cola’s partnership of the Olympics and Paralympics Games, Olympic Torch Relay and Paralympic Torch Relay over the next 8 months;
  • Contribute to driving positive media coverage in France on our OPG project & managing all OPG related relationship-building programs
  • Contribute to management of dedicated Public Relations agencies in close cooperation with system PACS
  • Manage sensitive communications and contribute to issue management center

Speaking French and English is a must have in this role, located in Issy-les-Moulineaux – France, no relocation support provided.

Main responsibilities*

All responsibilities are limited to activities directly related to the Paris 2024 Olympics & Paralympics Games.

  • Support the strategic Paris 2024 OPG Public Relations plan to support the continuous improvement of Coca-Cola France corporate reputation. (Reputation legacy)
  • Sensitive communication and issue management within the dedicated team
  • Manage press conferences, briefings, special events and other public events in order to convey the Coca-Cola and OPG information to key external audiences (incl specific Olympic Torch Relay activation) and to drive positive media coverage in France on our OPG and ESG credentials
  • Listening to media reports and monitoring news articles relevant to the work of the OPG, OTR and PTR Project Team
  • Maintaining contacts with media representatives and partner organizations.
  • Overseeing the production of publications, both electronic and manual.
  • Working closely with the Communications Teams and the Communications Agency on managing the media on OPG, OTR and PTR related topics and initiatives.
  • Supporting France PACS Senior Director with answering media enquiries on OPG and OTR/PTR
  • Attending meetings with journalists and other media representatives.
  • Working with the agency in writing and editing news reports, press releases and other forms of external communications.

Key skills and experience required

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in Public Affairs, Communications, or Public Relations
  • Passionate with loved and successful brands, Sport and Olympic & Paralympic movement and values
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English
  • Ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously
  • Expert of Media Relations (e.g., formats, deadlines, contact points, relationship dynamic)
  • Ability to craft and deliver the Company’s messages in a compelling way to generate positive media coverage or minimize impact of negative coverage
  • Knowledge of writing styles (e.g., speeches, news releases and position papers)
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to coordinate inputs, requirements, and demands of numerous constituencies and stakeholders into a cohesive effort
  • Ability to work in autonomy yet strong coordination within a team
  • Issue management experience
