Roanoke, Virginia, Carilion Clinic is seeking a new Vice President to lead communications, marketing and planning efforts for the $2.4 billion health system. Specifically, we are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Vice President who is willing to test new ideas and who is eager to lead the organization in new ways.  
The VP will lead a department of approximately 50 high-performing and highly qualified professionals and be responsible for ensuring all types of communications and marketing activities for the organization are strategic, innovative and of high quality. Experience with agile, consumer-centered digital marketing is required. Expertise in leading the design and development of customer relationship management (CRM) systems is desirable.   
The VP will report directly to the Chief Administrative Office and work closely with the executive team to ensure all facets of communications, marketing and planning promote the organization’s current needs and vision for the future. This position cultivates strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and integration of messages and guides key leadership in doing the same.  
Areas of accountability include:  

Brand management
Content marketing
Creative services (design, A/V)
Crisis communications
Employee communications
Executive and corporate communications, including government affairs support
Market research and planning
Media and public relations
Physician liaison and referral development
Publications
Social media
Sponsorships and event planning
Website development

Minimum Qualifications

Education:  Master’s degree in health care, business or related field required.  Experience:  Ten (10) years demonstrating progressively responsible leadership experience roles required. Leadership experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.   Other Minimum Qualifications:  Proactive strategic planner with highly focused project management skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. Must be a well-organized and self-directed individual. Must relate to people at all organizational levels and possess excellent communication skills. Serves as a mentor; excellent facilitation and conflict resolution skills. Experience in leadership of teams or projects beyond a departmental level required. Proficient computer skills required.
