Your responsibilities
Participation in the project “Evaluation of the impact of landscape structure and source-sink dynamics on non-target arthropod
pesticide risk assessments in Germany” (ELONTA).
familiarization with the ALMaSS model system;
research, acquisition and preparation of input data for ALMaSS (including landscape data, cultivation parameters and
definition of cultivation systems for selected landscapes, characteristics of NTAs, such as Bembidion lampros);
implementation of the prepared input data into the ALMaSS system code;
close cooperation with the project partners of the Aarhus University, Denmark and the Jagiellonian University, Poland;
preparation of reports and publications in English and German;
presentation and reporting of project results at project meetings in English and German.
Your profile
a post-graduate university degree (Masters/Diploma) in agricultural or environmental sciences or equivalent;
extensive knowledge of agricultural production systems in Germany;
training and/or experience in working with GIS;
basic understanding of ecological processes with regard to the impact of agricultural practices on the environment;
knowledge of Python and/or C++ will be an advantage;
good verbal and written communication skills in German and English;
very good communication and organisational skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary international team;
willingness to undertake business trips.
We offer
varied, challenging and interesting position in an international working environment.
a part-time employment with 29.75 hours / week, initially limited to 15 months, with the possibility of extension.
remuneration according to salary group E 13 TVöD if the required qualifications and skills are met. The employment contract
will be based on the collective agreement for the public service-Ost (TVöD-Ost).
starting date: October 1st, 2020.
