Summary_Description
Full time positions are available for outpatient psychiatrists to work within
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital outpatient clinic settings. This is a vibrant and
growing group practice with opportunities for peer supervision and
collaboration in an academic medical center setting.
Clinical work will consist of working in a community oriented Adult Outpatient
setting within the Comprehensive HIV Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Join a dynamic interdisciplinary team including psychiatry, psychiatric nurse
practitioner, HIV primary care providers and social workers providing
integrated mental health treatment. Working in the collaborative care model,
psychiatrists will partner with social workers and primary care providers to
deliver mental health services. An integrated approach will also enable
psychiatrists to provide psychopharmacology to patients individually. The
population served includes individuals with HIV, co-occurring substance use and
psychiatric disorders. Community based care involves the ability to connect
with patients throughout the hospital spectrum of care from inpatient,
emergency department, and outpatient and community settings. This is a rich
training environment with opportunities to teach Columbia medical students,
residents, and social work trainees.
Assistant Professor or Instructor Level requirements: Assistant professor
requires board certification in psychiatry and 2-3 years post-residency
clinical experience. Instructor level requires graduation from a psychiatric
residency program.
Opportunities for professional development in an academic medical center
include Direct patient care, team leader, teaching Columbia medical students
and psychiatry residents; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not
essential. Applicants must have a NYS license and DEA certificate. Columbia

Minimum_Degree_Required
Minimum Educational Requirements: MD or DO from accredited institution New York
State License Active DEA License ABPN Board Certification (for graduating
residents/fellows, Board certification within 6 months of start date is
acceptable.
