Job Title Senior Staff Counsel – Bankruptcy Job Purpose What does a great Senior Staff Counsel of Bankruptcy do? You will support the Global Business Solutions business unit by:
  • Providing legal counsel, research and analysis on bankruptcy matters (both pre and post-petition).
  • Interfacing with credit and risk departments, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • Participating in workouts and restructuring.
  • Drafting necessary agreements and documents.
  • Providing timely advice and support to senior business and sales executives as well as legal, regulatory, credit and compliance staff.
  • Identifying potential risks, strategies and solutions, manages or escalates the risk evaluation as necessary.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Five years of creditor/debtor side bankruptcy experience.
  • Experience in corporate or law firm environment with pre-petition and post-petition bankruptcy.
  • Proficient in all chapters of bankruptcy.
  • Exhibits effective time management skills and project. execution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently but also be a team player and collaborator.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of merchant acquiring business and legal experience in financial services sector would be a plus.
