ACLU of Missouri
- Participate in setting program priorities and overall direction for the
ACLU of Florida.
- Along with the Director of Statewide Initiatives, serve as a point of
contact between chapters/chapter leaders and the state staff. The
Director of Statewide Initiatives serves an ombudsperson-like function, ensuring that chapter needs are met and receive follow-through, rather than directly doing the work.- In consultation with chapter leadership and in a manner that is
consistent with ACLU of Florida policy, develop and implement internal
procedures, protocols, and processes to guide collaborative work with the chapters and the state staff. This includes procedures around state- sponsored events, chapter-sponsored events, communications with members, chapter administration/governance/reporting, and finance.- Identify chapter capacity-building needs, and work with chapter leaders,
affiliate staff, the ACLU of Florida board, and other relevant
stakeholders to meet those needs.- Serve as a resource and thought partner for chapters and chapter leaders
as they independently design, plan, and implement their local programming
and activities.- Design, plan, and implement statewide programming and activities that
meets the needs of chapters.
- Work with chapter leaders to revise, maintain, and enhance the Chapter
Resource Manual.
- Attend chapter meetings and events, as feasible.
- Work collaboratively with chapters to design and implement practices and
programs that enhance equity and inclusion in every aspect of the
organization’s work.- Design and implement processes for consulting and engaging chapters,
chapter leadership, and chapter members in the setting of statewide
priorities.- Identify, nurture, and elevate volunteer leadership within impacted
communities and the broader public to help shape and inform campaign
goals, tactics, and strategies.- Provide regular, comprehensive updates on campaign progress to various
stakeholders.
- Monitor and support implementation of Chapter Workplans in a manner that
balances campaign goals while building long-term Chapter capacity.
- Produce ongoing reports tracking data and other metrics.

Other_Responsibilities- Work on special projects as assigned.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the organization as assigned.
- Maintain strong relationships with activists and members across the state
in support of the three campaigns.
* Desired_Qualifications While no one person will have all the qualities enumerated below, the successful candidate will bring many of the following qualifications and attributes:- At least three (3) years of experience in the non-profit sector and
demonstrated ability to work on advocacy/organizing/political campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree. This requirement can be substituted for an additional
two (2) years of experience.
- A history of working collaboratively and successfully with people and
organizations from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds and a broad
range of ideological positions and religious views.- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Exceptional organization skills; highly detail-oriented with strong
follow-through.
- Ability to work independently when necessary and keep organized in a
fast-paced environment.
- Creative, results-oriented, self-starting, and willing to learn.
- Experience putting campaign strategy and tactics for volunteer engagement
into practice.
- Superb organizational skills; detail-oriented with strong follow-through,
self-starting, willing to learn, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with and a high degree of comfort working with technology.
- Ability to have a flexible schedule and travel across Florida to attend
and/or participate in evening or weekend meetings.
- Fluency in Spanish or Kreyol preferred, but not required.

* Compensation_And_Benefits Compensation will be commensurate with experience within the range of $44,000- $55,000.
