Nemours’ mission is to serve pediatric care through excellence in education, research, patient care and community engagement. We are seeking a Chair of Anesthesia who can develop the Department as a nationally recognized leader in pediatric clinical care, education and research.The Department Chair will report to the Chief Medical Officer and will be a senior physician leader of Nemours who provides the vision, strategic direction, and management of a clinical department in harmony with the Nemours Mission and Strategy. In addition to leading, developing, and supporting the Department’s faculty members in carrying out their responsibilities, this individual will be instrumental in growing the Department’s clinical and research scope. Leadership and administrative experience are highly desirable, as is a demonstrable commitment to excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity, quality and safety, and patient/family-centered care.
Nemours is a multi-state pediatric healthcare system and as such, the new Department Chair will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with the Department Chairs who are based at the AI duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware as well as Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
Qualified candidates will possess:
MBA, MMM, MHA or similar advanced degree preferred but not required
Fellowship training Pediatric Anesthesiology
Certification in Pediatric Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology
Able to obtain a clear and active Florida Medical License
Successful track record of progressive responsibility that includes work in an academic setting
Five years of direct leadership experience
