Member Duties : Members will drive engagement with educators, school districts and gay-straight alliance (GSA) clubs across the state. They will conduct trainings, collect/analyze data, build relationships with community organizations, and develop students into leaders in their schools. Through these efforts, members will also expand GLSEN Washington’s presence across the state and create a larger support network for LGBT students and their Allies. Student Support: The member will be responsible for identifying and meeting with GSA clubs across Washington State. In addition, they will guide students and advisors in starting GSA’s at schools which do not currently have clubs. There will also be opportunities to bring students and advisors together to learn from each other. Educator Support: The member will outreach to schools to promote GLSEN educator trainings. Along with other GLSEN volunteers, they will conduct trainings to give educators the tools needed to create safe spaces.
