Come and show your resourcefulness alongside us and give new meaning to your career in a dynamic, innovative and humane environment!

Internship topic: Improving models of cryogenic systems.

Your Mission

In collaboration with the Product Development – Physics team of Simcenter Amesim, you will be responsible for exploring and evaluating critical physical processes in cryogenic fuel systems, with a focus on key applications such as:

  • Propellant expulsion and filling
  • Long-term storage operations (dormancy operations)
  • Tank dynamics and movement

In this context

You will evaluate a range of physical processes that can occur in these systems. These processes may include (but are not limited to):

  • Fuel sloshing
  • Thermal stratification of fluids in tanks
  • Self-pressurization
  • Pressurization gas injection
  • Boiling regimes
  • Free surface vibrations

The objective is to enhance the understanding of the dominant physical phenomena in these applications and to collaborate with a mentor to develop strategies aimed at improving the thermal and fluid models in Simcenter Amesim.

This 6-month internship is based in Lyon (69) and is available from January 2025.

Keys to success

  • You are pursuing higher education in engineering (BAC+5 or equivalent) with a focus on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and physical modeling, in France.
  • You have a solid foundation in C, which is useful for implementing physical models and developing simulation solutions.
  • You enjoy working on research topics.
  • Your interpersonal and communication skills in both French and English enable effective collaboration within the team.
  • You are able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with mentors.

Strategic Student Program

The Siemens Software Strategic Student Program (SSP) is our formal internship initiative designed to develop both technical and soft skills in a real-world business environment.
