Meta is seeking Research Scientists to join its Generative AI (GenAI) organization, focused on making significant advances in AI. We work on the flagship Llama multimodal models and products for the company, making sure they are developed in a responsible way and with the highest standards. Red teaming and stress testing these models is a critical part of this process where the candidate will be part of. We are currently seeking talented researchers with experience in Language Research to join our LON/PAR sites and work with us on extending the capabilities of large foundation models. Researchers will drive impact by: (1) open sourcing high quality code and reproducible results for the community, and (2) bringing the latest research to Facebook products for connecting billions of users, (3) pushing for state-of-the-art research and publishing papers and technical reports. The chosen candidate(s) will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and cross-functional partners, and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and research facilities.

AI Research Scientist – Generative AI Red Teaming (London or Paris) Responsibilities:

  • Lead research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines
  • Work towards long-term ambitious research goals, while identifying intermediate milestones
  • Contribute research that can be applied to Meta product development.
  • Influence progress of relevant research communities by producing publications.
  • Collaborate and increase productivity on existing Meta AI projects as a contributing team member.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar quantitative field.
  • Track record of publications that demonstrate experience in a quantitative domain.
  • Experience collaborating within a team to solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
  • Knowledge in a programming language.
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Author of publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML and ICLR).
  • Experience conducting original research that can be applied to Generative AI research at Meta.
