Position: Europe & Australia Sourcing Manager, Direct Materials

Location: Boulogne, France

Type of Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role:

The Sourcing Manager, is responsible for developing the regional sourcing strategies and leading sourcing events in partnership with global category leads and regional teams.

Part of the dynamic Europe and Australia (EUAU) Sourcing/procurement team, you will drive value for the business (Savings, Innovation, Sustainability, Risk Management) by leading the agenda on your scope : establishing strategic partnership with key suppliers, driving cross-functional cost optimization and value creation projects, deploying supplier and risk management strategies, supporting innovation and sustainability agenda for General Mills Brands in Europe and Australia .

As a global virtual team member, you will champion sourcing standards, global ways of working, and play a critical role in influencing stakeholders, internal and external, across the organization and region.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role you will drive category cost savings and base spend reduction, known as Holistic Margin Management (HMM). Specifically, you will:

  • Develop the category sourcing strategies in partnership with Global Teams and then deploy and execute it for the region,
  • Effectively engage with key stakeholders in the organization (Supply Chain, Planning, Finance, Marketing R&D, …) to understand business and innovation plans to be able to support optimizing the spend on dairy and support innovation and sustainability
  • Partner and build relationships with cross functional teams (R&D, Quality and Regulation, Logistics, and Manufacturing) to develop and deliver productivity savings projects (HMM, Cost avoidance, …)
  • Participate in regularly scheduled operating and supply chain leadership team meetings to provide status updates on Market, Projects, Risks and Opportunities and track project progress; Conduct occasional meetings with executive leadership teams to inform on regional category progress, financial impacts, and broader dairy market trends
  • Develop and present Monthly Market Analysis in collaboration with the Global Category Manager and effectively communicate on Market, Projects, Risks & Opportunities to Senior Leadership SLT communication
  • Develop and Implement the right Risk Management Strategy (supplier contingency planning, …) for your Categories
  • Take a leading role in the Sourcing-Finance cycle: Spring Plan, Inflation guidance, monthly forecasting, Risk and Opportunities
  • Take a leading role within the Raw Materials team on cross categories subjects (commodity pack, Market intelligence, etc…)
  • Ensure all dealings with suppliers are conducted with ethics and integrity and comply with General Mills corporate guidelines

Candidate Profile:

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Food Science, or related fields.
  • 7-8+ years’ experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement environment
  • Fluent French & Fluent English required
  • Strong relationship building skills and interpersonal effectiveness, including ability to manage, influence, and inspire an internal network of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and get buy in from multiple partners across the business
  • Ability to influence at senior management levels in Switzerland, France, UK, and Australia Markets, Key Suppliers and Global Sourcing
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing complex projects against firm deadlines
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in dynamic business environments, agile and quick learner
