At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is an in-office position and you’ll be expected to work full-time in an office location, and therefore must live within commuting distance from your assigned office. You will work from this office beginning on your first day.

Our Data Center operates 24/7 and flexibility for shift patterns will be required.

As a Data Center Technician at GoDaddy, you will play a vital role in our operations as the technical liaison between our technology teams and the data center environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our data centers, which are the backbone of our infrastructure.

What you’ll get to do…

In this senior technician position, you will ensure that the day-to-day tasks of Data Center Operations are prioritized effectively to meet our Service Level Agreements with our valued business partners. Drawing upon your in-depth understanding of all aspects of Data Center technology, you will provide on-the-job training to Junior Data Center System Engineer to empower them in their career growth.

We are seeking individuals who possess an extensive knowledge of the equipment they support and can effectively document and maintain it. At GoDaddy, we encourage innovation and independent decision-making. You will have the autonomy to identify and drive projects, delivering exceptional results with minimal direction.

Your experience should include…

  • Knowledge of key server hardware components such as CPU, RAM, PSU, HDDs, RAID batteries, etc.
  • Proficient in identifying and addressing issues with components
  • Proficiency in intermediate cabling maintenance, encompassing Cooper and Fiber
  • Solid comprehension of patch schemes and cutsheets
  • Intermediate understanding of networking devices like Switches, Routers, Media Convertors, and Fiber Taps
  • Proficiency in Linux/Windows Operating Systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of SSH/RDP
  • Experience with copper and fiber testing equipment
  • Proficient in ticket management methodologies, particularly ITIL processes
  • Intermediate knowledge of Virtual Machine (VM) technology
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols
  • Demonstrated capability in effectively maintaining and resolving issues related to hardware in mission-critical systems, including storage, network, and servers.
  • Experience in requesting quotes and managing purchase orders to maintain inventory levels
