The Continental Europe Sales & Marketing team is part of the Global Sales & Marketing organization which rolls up to the Commercial & Investment Bank of J.P. Morgan. The Continental Sales business covers distribution of Markets and Platform Services products to the Continental client base. The business is set up and managed in a matrix structure, across products (Macro, Spread, Equities, SIDM, Corporates and Platform) and regional franchises (France Belux, Southern Europe, Germany and Austria, Switzerland, Nordics and Netherlands.)

The Continental Europe Sales Business Management function sits within the Finance & Business Management (F&BM) of the Commercial & Investment Bank. Business managers are responsible for supporting the regional and country Sales heads from an end-to-end perspective. This includes driving business strategies, conducting financial planning and analysis, client deep dives and managing risk & control (and regulatory). Business managers will have regular exposure and interactions with business heads and their Sales teams, and are required to have a thorough understanding of the business & regulatory landscape, equipped with strategic, financial and project coordination skills.

Job Responsibilities

Drive Business Growth and Strategy.

  • Act as trusted advisor to the Regional Sales Heads
  • Lead and execute business strategies and priorities through close partnership with Sales and support groups (Tech, Ops, finance, legal, compliance).
  • Facilitate business reviews and presentations (e.g. Town Halls, Offsites, Business Reviews)
  • Drive new Business Initiatives and Change Management & Risk Assessment for new business activities and strategic technology enhancements
  • Participate in the financial and revenue reporting, planning and forecast process with P&A
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking deep dives & market analysis to help business identify key gaps, trends and opportunities
  • Manage the escalation of any day-to-day sales or client issues
  • Oversee business expenses to ensure compliance with policies and expense targets
  • Oversee occupancy and real estate planning and demands

Risk & Controls

  • Drive and support the implementation of global and local regulatory agenda and reforms
  • Partner with business and Compliance to engage with regulators such as the ECB, AMF and BAFIN on regulatory matters, and the JPMSE Board to ensure our continental and JPMSE strategy is well understood
  • Manage business risks and support the control environment – Identify, assess and mitigate business risks that could impair the ability to do business across countries
  • Manage JPMSE Governance and location governance forums for Market Sales
  • Engage in resiliency planning, audit and regulatory reviews in partnership with the controls
  • Review governance and supervisory framework devised by partners in controls, making recommendations for change/optimization where necessary

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Good knowledge of Markets products space – cross asset class where possible
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills in French and English
  • Strong prioritization skills, is a self-starter able to prioritize key tasks effectively
  • Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
  • Good judgment, maturity and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior management
  • Strong team player and project management skills, able to partner with different functions
  • Energetic, self-motivated and effective under pressure – must enjoy the challenge of working within a fast-paced and demanding work environment while maintaining work-life balance
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls
