Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth, business acumen and strong interpersonal skills.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
You will engage with some of the world’s largest companies to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate their ability to innovation.
As a trusted customer advocate, the Solutions Architect will work to understand their business needs and provide guidance and best practices on how to leverage cloud technologies to solve these with traditional or innovative solutions. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value and help customers solve problems is critical to a solutions architect. You will represent AWS in face-to-face meetings and own the overall technical relationship between AWS and the customer up to C-level.
Roles and Responsibilities
• As a key member of the business development and account management team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
• In partnership with the account management team, formulate and support revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
• Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers
• Build relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support
Key job responsibilities
– Partner with the sales team to design solutions for customers, drive AWS adoption and revenue.
– Be an AWS evangelist. Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS.
– Establish credibility & build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
– Participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new and migrating existing applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
– Conduct deep-dive “hands-on” education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
– Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, tutorials, etc.
– Present sessions at AWS and industry conferences.
– Technical liaison between customers, service engineering & support teams.
– Serve as a key member of the sales team in helping to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the AWS platform.
– Scope each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
– Own each engagement, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value.
– Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS SA community.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Solid experience in design/implementation/management of complex distributed IT applications and infrastructure
– Solid experience in infrastructure (compute, storage, network), application, or database architectures
– Awareness of software development methodologies and cloud computing benefits, concepts
– Awareness of software development tools and methodologies
– Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across internal and external organizations
– Fluency in French and English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Technical degree; Computer Science, Engineering or Math background highly desired, or equivalent work experience
– Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies
– AWS Certification, eg. AWS Solutions Architect Associate
– Experience with software/technology in a customer facing role
– Experience with “on-premise to cloud” migrations or IT transformations
– Experience architecting/operating solutions build on AWS
– Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
