An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and be responsible for Risk assessment of highly diverse portfolio of clients across growing and dynamic sectors, and interfacing with a broad array of internal stakeholders across the front office, legal, and the broader risk organization. The hybrid financial/corporate nature of the portfolio offers a platform for building your knowledge across the full spectrum of CIB credit products while developing your core credit skills.

As a a Senior Credit Officer in the Credit Risk Team, you will own a portfolio of clients across brokers, proprietary trades, and fintechs. You will perform credit due diligence, define credit ratings and limits, and manage risk appetite conversations with the front line that balance business needs with protecting the bank’s balance sheet. You will also work closely with the juniors in the team, while running end-to-end credit assessment, by way of providing guidance on financial analysis, credit rating determination and giving directions for on-going credit monitoring of the allocated portfolio.

While the manager for the role and part of the team is based in Paris, the team’s nexus remains in London.

Job responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of clients in the Broker/Dealer, Proprietary Traders, Payments, and Fintech sectors
  • Carry out due diligence and credit analysis to articulate risk appetite and risk grading
  • Negotiate and provide recommendations for new transaction approvals
  • Manage and monitor portfolio risk

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Credit Risk
  • Working knowledge of transaction structures, loan documentation and banking products
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to establish credibility and trust with clients and internal partners
  • Energy and motivation to develop and work as part of a team
  • Experience working with junior team members, providing guidance and feedback
