Job Description Summary

The Legal Operations Manager enables the Legal function to serve internal and external clients more effectively thereby optimizing the value of legal services delivered to the overall PDx business. The Legal Operations Manager supports the General Counsel in the areas of project management, financial management and the technology portfolio. He or she drives operational improvements in legal services by designing and introducing business processes, lean activities, automated tools and modernization to ensure that legal activity meets commercial needs. This role directly supports the General Counsel, attorneys, and compliance professionals globally in accordance with PDx guidelines.

Ce rôle soutient directement le directeur juridique, les avocats et les professionnels de la conformité à l’échelle mondiale, conformément aux directives PDx.

Job Description

Key responsibilities
  • To design, document and maintain appropriate standard operating processes for key activities of the function (legal engagement, contracts, litigation, CRBs, IRBs etc..)
  • To enhance project management for legal initiatives (archiving, templates, library, CLMs etc..)
  • To develop and monitor key legal function metrics and ensure best planning for resources.
  • To implement the lean principles and standard work improvements within the legal, compliance and IP teams
  • To help manage vendors & law firms; budget, monitoring of spend, RFPs; law firm performance evaluation.
  • To work with the Legal team on IT tools and efficient use of Artificial intelligence, software tools to increase efficiency, lower costs and minimise risk in partnership with GE Healthcare corporate and IT teams (Contract management and archiving, E-signatures, ASTs etc..)
  • Management of Internship program and secondment resources as needed.
  • Educate Legal and business colleagues on Legal and Compliance processes as and when required.
  • Interact with the Legal, compliance and IP teams, internal business staff, and external consulting and law firms.

 


Qualifications
  • Significant legal operations experience in a Legal environment, supporting the activities of a department/team or manager.
  • Workflow expertise.  Demonstrated experience in workflow management and other software tools used for Legal tasks.
  • Strong time management skills.  Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects with more than one team member simultaneously, adjusting to changing priorities and follow through on all assignments.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills, including grammar and composition including ability to instruct business and legal teams.
  • Excellent PC skills with advanced level skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Mail) and previous demonstrated experience navigating the Internet effectively.
  • Must be able to maintain security of highly confidential information—discretion and confidentiality required
  • Must be able to work self-directed and willing and able to flex work hours periodically based on business needs.
  • Integrity. Must accept and adhere to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

 


Desirable skills
  • A law degree + full mastery of oral and written English.
  • Some experience relating to Legal operations in addition to significant legal experience
  • Flexible and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Cope well in a pressurized environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization 6.Adaptable/Flexible: Being open to change and work in ambiguous situations
  • Change agent, process oriented, global mindset
  • Execution and follow through:
  • Ability to move project/issue from visionary stage to completion.  Ability to accurately follow complex procedures.
