Job Summary:

As a Bank Sourcer Associate within Global Sales and Marketing team , you will play a pivotal role in our sourcing function – a key driver of the Distressed franchise.

Your main responsibility will focus on providing targeted coverage for execution traders at client banks which includes all large-cap distressed loans on balance sheets where outright sales are being considered versus potential restructurings/work-out.

In addition, hunt potential proprietary sell axes where distressed assets are bilateral loans, less liquid, non-core or relationship-stale. These will involve JPM acting as intermediary to or partnering with distressed credit funds and will require ongoing collaboration with the bank seller in what can be protracted, bespoke negotiations.

Job Responsibilitie

  • Target coverage of execution traders at client banks
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers in work-out/restructuring groups and implement dialogue in order to get early views on the bank’s intention (or not) to sell, timing thereof and target price
  • Provide market colour and indicative pricing on all relevant target names we are looking to buy
  • Ensure regular dialogue in order to get colour on any potential auctions or asset sales as well as enhance dialogue content and allow relationships to grow and be cemented.
  • Maintain a relationships with higher level credit officers, relationship managers and senior decision makers
  • Provide a coverage of client banks (across LBO, leveraged corporate, and Investment Grade loans)
  • Establish relationships with regional contacts (depending on issuer jurisdiction), discuss credit characteristics with these contacts and relevant analysts
  • Ensure syndication process is finalized through to allocation and funding
  • Continue dialogue with regional contacts and respective execution traders to capture any secondary trading
  • Ensure lines of communication remain open re sales from JPM CPG/Excess; equally, any par corporate loan secondary trading as well as bridge dialogue and communication with capital markets/origination (for sub-underwritings etc.)
  • Explore portfolio trades (buy and sell) for example in RCFs, potential financing / off-balance sheet opportunities as well as potential avenues for syndication of JPM’s financing book

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • You have experience in a markets-based role; preferably in Credit
  • You demonstrate excellent technical/numerical skills
  • You have ability to understand complex topics and products and explain them to other parties
  • You have ability to think on a strategic level and identify future opportunities for business growth
  • You demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • You demonstrate proficiency in using Bloomberg and analytical functions
  • You are detail oriented and self-motivated
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You have excellent time management ability
  • European languages required i.e. Spanish, Italian, German, French.
