At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is an in-office position and you’ll be expected to work full-time in an office location, and therefore must live within commuting distance from your assigned office. You will work from this office beginning on your first day.

As an Intermediate Data Center Technician you will coordinate and direct day to day operations for the Data Center. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and solving the most complex infrastructure issues, while training our Junior Data Center Technicians in the role’s responsibilities. As a technical leader, you will ensure that the day-to-day tasks of Data Center Operations have been appropriately prioritised to best meet service level agreements with our business partners. You will travel between Data Center sites and work a flexible shift and participate in an on-call rotation.
What you’ll get to do…
- You perform sophisticated hardware/OS troubleshooting and maintenance for shared environments, with focus on mission critical systems (storage, network, servers)
- You are able to find creative ways to optimise capital and operating costs and resolve complex issues and are responsible for data analytics and reporting
- You improve current processes, procedures and introduce automation seeking simplification and efficiency increases by formulating, affecting, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures
- You review quotes and submit ‘Bill of Materials’ to maintain inventory levels
- You develop and manage relationships with business partners and third-party vendors with a focus on quality and SLA compliance
- You plan, delegate and lead workloads and major projects with little to no direction from leadership
Your experience should include…
- 3+ years experience in systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers) and network concepts, programming/scripting (Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP) and Data Center architecture
- Experience with the following IT hardware concepts: RAID, Storage, Hardware diagnostics/repair, SAS/SATA, Boot Process, Boot Loader, File Systems, Network device and protocol configuration, Directory Structure, base operating system install, Core OS Services such as SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Remote management protocol (KVM, iDRAC, IPMI), knowledge of ITSM concepts such as ITIL4/agile methodologies, understanding of rack and power optimisation and hardware lifecycle management
- Experience in building and maintaining business partner relationships and supporting enterprise customers in an operations environment
- The ability to kneel, crawl, reach above shoulder height and lift 25kg repeatedly throughout daily shifts and walk/move about the Data Center facility for up to 85% of shift time (GoDaddy may consider candidates who do not have these abilities on a case by case basis in order to comply with applicable legislation)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
