Amazon is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Business Intelligence Engineer – data analyst to support the EU Negotiations Program in its mission to improve selection, better prices and more convienence for our customers across our European Consumer business.

The role of the Senior BIE, EU Negotiations, will be to provide insights into how macroeconomic trends may influence our profitability, build reports based on the latest technology to help retail teams monitor progress and course-correct when they are missing their objectives and help in the automation of key phases of the process. You will use data to support your ideas, drive actionable outcomes, and provide unique ways to present data and information in an easy to consume format.

This role will work in close collaboration with the project teams, business teams, finance teams as well as other data and tech teams, both in Europe and across the world.
This role will be part of the European Retail team. The Product Manager Vendor Services , EU AVS position could be based in any location in which Amazon Retail teams are present (Paris, London, Munich, Milan, Madrid, Luxembourg).

The Senior BIE – Data Analyst, EU AVS will be responsible for:
– Drive deep understanding of vendor segmentation, behavior as well as Amazon operational performance and streamlining services by identifying, developing, and executing analyses.
– Build recommendation and insights on how to improve performance, economics and efficiency.
– Champion data and metrics instrumentation during the development lifecycle for new initiatives
– Drive development of tools, reporting improvements, and automation, and create new innovative and insightful reports.
– Support the business team with requests and analytical needs.
– Support the development of our technical infrastructure (cluster, pipelines and metrics creation)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• This position requires a Master’s Degree in Finance, Computer Science or a related technical field, and multiple years of relevant experience
• Strong analytical orientation; comfort using databases and analytical tools and making data-based decisions;
• Financial acumen in building services P&Ls
• Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner
• Strong data modelling/architecture skills
• Expert SQL skills
• Experience with enterprise class BI and Analytics tools such as Tableau, R/SAS, Quicksight and OBIEE
• Capable of investigating, familiarizing and mastering new data sets quickly
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Solid communication skills and team player
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Design and scripting experience in one of Python, Perl, Shell script
• Experience in designing and operating large Data Warehouses
• Experience with multiple database platforms is a plus
• Experience with Amazon Redshift and other AWS technologies
