Research Scientist Intern, Language Generative AI (PhD) Responsibilities:
- Perform cutting-edge research in generative AI, focusing on audio and speech generation, drawing inspiration from Meta’s projects like Seamless-Communication and Audiobox.
- Analyze and optimize the scalability and efficiency of deployed systems, particularly in the context of generative audio and multimodal AI.
- Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams, sharing progress and integrating research findings into practical applications.
- Contribute to the AI community through publishing research results and enhancing Meta’s product development with new AI technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Natural language processing, Audio & Speech Processing, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or relevant technical field.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
- Experience with Python, C++, C, Java or other related languages.
- Experience building systems based on machine learning and/or deep learning methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intent to return to the degree program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, ECCV, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, Interspeech, or similar.
- Demonstrated expertise in training generative AI models tailored for applications in audio, speech, and / or other generative tasks.
- Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
- Experience with the development of enterprise level AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning platforms involving big data management and GPU compute.
- Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
