We are recruiting for a Global Field Operation Representative to join the regional Supplier Management Team. The position will be responsible for leading statements of work with regional partners, providing validation & insights to the health of Boeing supply chain production systems, supporting our various Programs acting as conduits between suppliers and our Production Operations.

This role would suit someone based in (or near) one of our locations in France: Toulouse or Bordeaux, who is willing to travel regularly across the region, up to 75% travel across our supply chain. This position is Home office based.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors emergent offload/overload suppliers including processors, philanthropic, machine shop and sheet metal shop and provide technical assistance for areas like manufacturing, planning and requirements interpretation to ensure delivery schedule compliance and product conformity.
  • Serves as the company spokesperson on Manufacturing Processes.
  • Mentors and coaches other employees to identify, establish and maintain priorities for deliveries of products, services and data, determine necessary supplier contractual corrective actions and resolution of issues to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Communicates across functions including procurement agents, suppliers, internal customers, field quality, engineering and manufacturing to report status and concerns.
  • Facilitates with the supplier the development of a recovery plan and unplanned demand requirements.
  • Delivers and/or facilitates training and mentoring on business and manufacturing practices (e.g., requirements interpretation and clarification, contractual compliance, scheduling tools, technical skills and self assessment) to supplier personnel in order to improve or enhance delivery performance.
  • Participates with the procurement agent in on-site supplier assessments (e.g., preferred supplier certification, proof of process and rate readiness) to identify supplier capacity and capability to perform current and projected work statements and support Boeing procurement strategy. Bases assessments on evaluation of overall supplier health (e.g., symptoms of declining financial stability) and makes recommendations to management by generating an assessment report, action plan and rating.
  • Conducts on-site evaluations in response to Procurement Support Requests that identify problems (e.g., delivery and producibility) to establish the basis for recovery planning. Assists suppliers in developing plans (e.g., recovery and root cause correction) and monitors suppliers’ performance-to-plan to ensure compliance to contractual requirements.
  • Applies critical thinking and high level problem solving techniques to resolve complex issues. Identify and make recommendations to implement new processes or to improve existing processes (e.g., lean manufacturing, shop floor control, work prioritization, production and inventory control system) to enhance supplier ability to produce and deliver products and services, report back to management, and make recommendations to procurement agent.
  • Understands and articulates Boeing business goals and strategies to suppliers through process improvement. After evaluating supplier resources (e.g., labor, capital, tooling, facilities, raw materials) to determine viability, provides recommendations to support supplier contract compliance to procurement agents.
  • Works with suppliers to ensure the development of resource plans that support Boeing programs. Validates that resources plans support long range goals and objectives. Acts as project manager for work movement projects (e.g., permanent offload, on load, supplier to supplier and between supplier facilities) by verifying that the elements of the work movement plan (e.g., tool validation, configuration control, process approvals and schedule compliance) are credible and complete in order to accomplish a seamless transition. Monitors plan activities to ensure that supplier produces conforming and compliant products on time. Uses project management tools.
  • Provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Essential Requirements:

• Ability to travel in France and Europe regularly (up to 75% of working time)

• Having a full driving license

• Fluent in English

• Fluent in French

Preferred Requirements:

• Knowledge of Lean principles and Tools and Processes and how to apply them in work environments.

• Knowledge of the procurement process used at company sites to track procurement obligations such as, schedule compliance, quantity and past performance.

• Knowledge of government, company, and local policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Knowledge of strategic sourcing objectives including supply base optimization, enterprise demonstrating, supplier performance improvement and business considerations to develop the company’s supplier base.

• Knowledge of supplier assessment processes including Preferred Supplier Certification and Work Transfer Process.

• Knowledge of Boeing Problem Solving Model.

• Project Management capabilities with ability to communicate articulately to all partners through various forms of media

• Be able to work across a multi-Functional Boeing Team with shown success

• Able to foster and develop strong working relationships with internal and supplier partners

• Capable of interpreting performance related data in order to drive appropriate strategies

Work Authorization: This requisition is for a locally hired position in France. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in France. Boeing will not attempt to acquire Immigration and labor sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
