Our client, a global membership organisation bringing together consumer goods manufacturers and retailers in pursuit of business efficiency and positive societal change, is looking for a Senior Communications Manager.

The Senior Communications Manager’s role will be to strengthen the communication of the organisation, with a specific focus on the work of a global initiative.

The aim is to raise awareness among stakeholders, promote the impact of on-the-ground actions and showcase how the industry is part of the solution. This can be achieved by contributing to the development and implementation of the relevant communications strategies.

The Senior Manager will report to the Director, Communications and is expected to work closely with all members of the communications team, as well as others across the organisation.

Your role:

• Lead execution of content production: including understanding internal clients’ needs, supporting the communications strategy (including selecting relevant KPIs), creating the content and distributing across relevant channels, including but not limited to the website, press, social media, email.
• Lead content creation and community management across various channels for the global community
• Create content to contribute to the communications tools: Members’ newsletter, corporate brochure, executive summaries, etc.
• Write and publish press and news releases, and distribute on relevant channels, including news wires.
• Write (or edit if received from an external source) and publish blog posts.
• Monitor and seek out speaking opportunities for the Coalitions Director to speak at and work with the partnering events to organise and promote their involvement.
• Liaise with media, and work alongside the external PR agency
• Ensure that relevant website pages are kept up to date.

Requirements:

• Native-level oral and written English. A working knowledge of Spanish and French is advantageous.
• Exceptional writing skills and ability to draft different forms of content (press releases, executive summaries, reactive statements, etc.)
• Proactive, solutions-oriented, flexible, resourceful
• A strong team player, able to take a proactive approach and work autonomously
• A graduate (or of equivalent educational standard) in Communications or Journalism
• General understanding / previous experience / appreciation for food safety issues on an international level; alternatively experience in another regulated industry or sector
• General understanding of food safety issues and FMCG business on an international level is desirable
• At least 8 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience in an international environment and/or matrix organization
• Ability to demonstrate professional diplomacy, while effectively relating to people at all levels internally and externally.
• Meticulous organisational skills, rigorous and an eye for detail
• A strong working knowledge of the Adobe Suite, in particular InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
• Knowledge of WordPress, social media platforms such as Hootsuite, and HTML is beneficial
• Must embody the organisation’s corporate values
