Walt Disney Imagineering Paris is looking for a creatively inspired and results-driven professional to lead the local design team responsible for the enhancement and sustainment of Europe’s number one tourist destination.

The Portfolio Creative Development Executive is the resort level Imagineering leader responsible for the sustainment and enhancement of existing park assets, guest experience and show quality. Functional leader and manager for 60 creative professionals including producers, art directors, writers, and technical specialties, all working to design and oversee the delivery of hundreds of projects per year across 2 world-class theme parks, 7 Disney-themed hotels and The Disney Village entertainment complex.

Successful applicant will have strong creative management experience preferably in the theme park industry. This leader works across all lines of business at the resort to balance business and operational needs with creative intent. Exceptional communication skills are essential to this position. A fluent understanding of design, production and construction processes and priorities is key.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for facilitating the collaboration between WDI, resort business partners and site leaders to drive projects forward to meet creative, budget and schedule expectations.
  • Responsible for resource management and leadership in a fast paced and dynamic portfolio. This executive must have a facile understanding of the operations and business needs of the resort in order to lead the development of impactful and effective guest experiences. Specific tasks include:
    • Oversee the development of resource plans, estimates, and schedules for creative deliverables
    • Interface with stakeholders and partners to achieve concurrence on direction and scope
    • Oversee long-term resource plan and priorities
    • Manage annual operating budget for the design studio
    • Participate in the development of the local and global long-term plan for the growth and sustainment of the resort
  • Facilitate consensus building and decisions making by developing strong relationships with, and between, project team leaders and DLP site leaders.
  • Communicate clear and concise project updates to all levels within the Walt Disney Company organization
  • Collaborate with creative directors, project managers, site, and portfolio executives to prioritize scope and delivery options without compromising the integrity of the vision
  • The Portfolio Creative Development Executive will coordinate with WDI global creative leadership for performance criteria and best practices, project creative deliverables standardization, etc. to ensure a consistent, quality guest experience across global portfolios.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Skills and Requirements

  • Core knowledge and experience with theatrical technologies; lighting, effects, audio, etc.
  • Core knowledge of system interface – Ride, Facility, Show
  • Industry knowledge and experience of scope, schedule, and budget planning, tracking, and mitigation

Leadership Skills

  • Recognize talent and assemble, motivate, and manage a diverse team in a dynamic environment
  • Clearly articulate creative intent and vision to all levels of the Disney organization
  • Develop strong partnerships across all Divisions of Work
  • Manage the intersection of art and commerce and prioritize objectives

Education, Training, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Proven theme park development experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the creative process, design management tools, and deliverables
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing diverse and cross-cultural team
  • Proficiency in English and French
  • BA/BS in theater, film, design, or entertainment preferred
