Job Responsibilities
- Review the implementation of prudential banking regulation, capital adequacy framework and internal technical capital policy guidance as 2nd line of defense within Risk;
- Assess compliance with regulatory capital requirements, understand and critically evaluate potential capital impact of rule interpretation and associated operational consequences and peer practices;
- Work efficiently and communicate effectively across multiple disciplines including Lines of Business, Regulatory Capital Policy, Capital Management, Model Review/Validation to perform assessments;
- Perform capital impact analysis for new business initiatives and change management processes;
- Proactively monitor regulatory developments and changes to rule requirements to remain current on rule requirements and supervisory expectations.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Good overall knowledge of the Basel framework for capital requirements and capital adequacy, including the Basel III reforms;
- Ability to interpret and distill prudential banking regulation (EU CRR, PRA Rulebook etc.) and technical guidance into key requirements for use in assessments of regulatory rule compliance;
- Expertise in one or more of the core regulatory capital frameworks: Market Risk, Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Operational Risk;
- Detail oriented and ability to work independently while remaining current with emerging regulatory requirements and expectations;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and experience in tracing through complex financial processes and systems;
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in quantitative modeling or model review/validation in one or more of the core regulatory capital frameworks: Market Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk;
- Experience as a consultant or working for a prudential supervisory authority implementing/enforcing prudential banking regulation.
