DESCRIPTION

This is a very exciting opportunity to join Amazon Shipping, a new and fast-growing Business Unit commercializing Amazon’s parcel logistics for third-party companies. To help us build ‘the next big thing’ at Amazon, we are looking for an experienced, results-oriented leader for our mid-market Business Development teams in France. You will join the team at a crucial moment as we begin to scale our French service offering. You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of strong, highly driven and entrepreneurial Business Developers, to help you deliver against ambitious sales targets in a large and growing market segment opportunity made up by French e-commerce merchants and main-street retailers. You will also partner with Operations, Product and Program management teams to deliver insights and shape feature/capability development for shippers and recipients, as well as build relationships and trust with key internal customers to turn big ideas into outstanding results for Amazon and the parcel delivery industry.

• You are able to drive excellent Sales results end-to-end across the funnel, and in parallel deliver projects with high complexity across business, tech and operations domains
• You are a self-starter, able to juggle multiple priorities to make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often highly ambiguous environment
• You have experience in developing trustful relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including C-levels of key accounts and teams across Operations, Procurement, Finance, Legal
• You have a proven track record of setting, meeting and exceeding ambitious goals
• You are able to communicate with senior leaders in a clear, concise and structured manner – particularly in written form, in both French and English
• You can easily shift between strategic thinking and rolling up your sleeves and executing, in order to deliver results

Key job responsibilities
• Lead the team that owns our Mid-Market segment sales
• Own and manage business development inputs that drive profitable revenue
• Support your team members in addressing systematic or individual customers’ blockers to convert or onboard with our services, including direct intervention in sales interactions/events
• Hire a diverse pool of high-performing individuals for your team
• Manage performance of your team members, provide growth opportunities and strategically support each individual in their career progression
• Represent Amazon Shipping France as a business leader in external events
• Develop and implement strategies that contribute to demand/lead generation, improve organizational performance to exceed the plan; continuously challenge all aspects of the Sales and Commitment funnel for your team
• Seek out and implement new commercial opportunities with internal and external partners
• Present results in regular Business Review meetings to key internal stakeholders and executives
• Own the collection of market segment insights and requirements, partnering with global product management and operations teams to influence long-term roadmaps
• Analyze processes and evaluate opportunities to improve end user experiences, reduce costs, and accelerate organizational performance

This role will be based in Paris, with occasional domestic or international travel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree or “Grande Ecole” diploma
• Strong business acumen, as well as communication and negotiation skills, ability to effectively advise senior leadership
• Several years’ experience in business development, sales and account management roles
• Experience in building and leading high performing business teams
• Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, complex environment
• Entrepreneurial background with proven ability to deal with ambiguity, pivot quickly, adapt to new processes and run fast
• Proven quantitative analytical capability and project management skills in addition to being customer focused, excellent attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize and multi-task
• Track record of creating trustful relationships with C-level client stakeholders, incl. large accounts
• Ability to prioritize and demonstrate relentless discipline in achieving goals
• French at native level, English fluent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in the parcel delivery / logistics industry
• Experience selling to procurement and/or supply chain roles
• Experience in ‘leading leaders’
• Expert use of MS Office Suite, CRMs, sales and marketing automation tools (e.g. Salesforce.com)
