As Treasury Analytics Associate, you will be based in Paris and will support the broader EU team. The team supports the Corporate & Investment Bank’s primary legal entity within the region, JPMSE, and drives analytic review on the entity’s actual and projected liquidity and collateral position. You will gain exposure to a broad suite of CIB products and business events. The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Treasury team is responsible for managing the capital and liquidity resource usage of the CIB’s businesses – both at firm-wide and legal entity levels. The broader CIB Treasury team also establishes market-based funds transfer pricing policy and develops methodologies and metrics to improve collateral and liquidity risk management capabilities. As a team, CIB Treasury works closely with Corporate Treasury and Asset and Liability Risk Management (ALM) colleagues to develop consolidated liquidity risk metrics and analysis in support of internal and regulatory requirements. Within this broader context, the EU team works across the organization to monitor and assess the funding, liquidity and capital resource usage at the legal entity level within the region. The team is also engaged in ongoing regulatory reviews and is also a key contributor to regional and entity-specific ALCO reviews.
Job responsibilities
- Engage in monitoring of liquidity surpluses as measured across regulatory measures such as LCR and NSFR as well as the firm’s internal stress framework of modelled stress liquidity usage
- Track compositional shifts in the balance sheet and linking this to shifts in liquidity. This can include monitoring for shifts in third party and affiliate-facing Markets balances as well as lending and deposit pipeline events
- Drive reporting and analytics pertaining to EU-entity funds transfer pricing; this will include reviews of liquidity usage and funds transfer pricing paid by line of business. This review will also include reviews of any residual P&L remaining in Treasury and not attributed to lines of business.
- Support on-going analytic reviews of business-level attribution of line of business liquidity usage and volatility of usage.
- Provide ad-hoc review and input support regarding new business initiatives, and provide analytic support for ad-hoc regulator requests
- Support wholesale deposit analytics – including annual/quarterly reviews of client attrition
- Provide ongoing support of the production of recurring senior level reviews (such as ALCOs and other weekly, monthly and quarterly senior-level updates) as well as supporting the signoff of monthly actuals
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Working knowledge of Investment Bank products and balance sheet along with general accounting principles
- Previous exposure to liquidity risk and funding concepts
- System fluency in excel as well as ability to leverage alteryx and tableau tools
- Excellent working knowledge of PowerPoint (including PitchPro)
- Strong analytical, investigative problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Focused work ethic, good business sense and demonstrated initiative ,strong attention to detail. Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities
