About Diagnostics at Owkin
Our ambition is to potentiate precision diagnosis in oncology with artificial intelligence applied to digital pathology. Pathology slide images, taken from biopsied or resected tissues, are a yet-untapped, ultra-high dimensional data modality that offer a huge potential for deep learning application to better understand disease, optimize patient care & improve treatment decisions.
We have for instance developed two products based on AI and digital pathology to tackle major challenges in precision oncology:
The first one is about evaluating the risk of relapse in early breast cancer for a better adaptation of the therapeutic strategy. The second one is about decreasing the burden of MSI screening for patients with Colorectal cancer. If detected, the MSI phenotype leads to a very specific care pathway with a treatment based on immunotherapy improving the chance of survival for the patient.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate and motivated software testing engineer to work within our diagnostics team.
You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team of machine learning engineers, software engineers, site reliability engineers, and in close collaboration with the tech lead of the team.
Main missions of the role are:
- Contribute to the technical design and implementation of the application
- Translate design specifications into characterized and formal test methods from unit tests to end-to-end tests
- Set up an automatic software verification campaign to cover the software requirement specifications
- Establish and maintain documents and records related to the verification activities in compliance with the Quality Management System
- Improve the interoperability of the products (to facilitate integration in the hospital environment) and improve stack resiliency
Position is based in Paris, Nantes or remotely in France.
As such, the candidate must possess authorization to work legally in France.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of industry experience with a Masters or 10+ years with a BS degree, in computer science, software engineering or an associated field
- Test development appetite
- Experience in setting an automatic software testing campaign for front-end and back-end applications
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Microservices architecture
- Experience in production environments: Documentation, Specification, Verification Strategy, Verification campaign, Unit tests, Integration tests, Deployment, Code optimisation and Code versioning
- Experience with rigorous documentation practices in a regulated environment
- Experience with cloud computing services such as GCP, AWS, Azure
- Proficiency with container-based deployments: Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Familiarity in Linux/Unix-like environment
- Authorization to work legally in France
- Fluency in English is a prerequisite; additional language skills in French would be strongly preferred
Great to haves:
- Experience with Rust, Javascript
- Experience with Angular, React, Vue.js or other frontend framework
- Experience with database management
- Experience in healthcare and/or software as a medical device and associated standards ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304 etc.
- Experience in cyber security and applicable standards (in particular ISO 27001)
- Knowledge of network and security
- Experience working with agile software development
- Familiarity with machine learning fundamentals, from linear models to convolutional networks
