This role is responsible for Spices/ Seasonings/ Sauces, Vegetables, Flavors as well as other smaller raw material categories. You will develop and execute strategies and projects that optimize value creation for our Brands for our regional markets (Europe & Australia). Success in this role is dependent on building strong stakeholder influence, effectively leading supplier relationship management activities, building and utilizing best practices to bring process rigor to strategy execution, and ensuring operational excellence in all produced products.
This role gives a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of categories of Raw Materials and projects. You will also help the team coordinate communication on market intelligence to provide sufficient market understanding to our stakeholders.It requires an angil mindset as well as an eagerness to learn different areas of Sourcing.
Role and Responsibilities
This role, while based in Boulogne, France , is part of our Global Sourcing Organization, responsible for leading Corporate Services indirect spend categories across Europe/Australia to identify areas to unlock value and implement best practices.
The Sourcing Leader will effectively engage and partner with key stakeholders in Human Resources, Finance and Global Workplace Solutions to support the organization in optimising spend on all Corporate Services related goods and services. You will develop sourcing category strategies to meet business needs, align the category to best practice, and create effective synergies across the globe. Key spend areas are Human Resources, Temporary Labour, Real Estate, Advisory Services, Banking & Insurance, IT, Fleet Management, Travel and other Outsourced Services.
Job Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with Global Sourcing Managers to develop & align holistic category strategies for all assigned areas in order to drive competitive advantage through productivity and innovation initiatives
- Lead core project teams through a structured sourcing process (category strategy, planning, RF(x), negotiations, supplier selection) that leads to successful commercialization of partnerships
- Assess vendor/contract issues and risks – recommend mitigation strategies
- Increase competitive advantage for GMI through advantaged partnership agreements, competitive rates, and proactive partner management
- Work with key cost centre owners to support them managing their costs and with key supplier negotiations
- Ensure all reporting of financial results meet GM requirements and work with Finance to ensure transparency of numbers
- Document category strategies for key Corporate Services spends in the region that outline a roadmap to best in class. Align key stakeholders on the strategy
- Ensure all dealings with suppliers are conducted with ethics and integrity and comply with General Mills corporate guidelines
- Establish metrics, processes and procedures, and partner governance management model to ensure optimum service, performance, and pricing
Required Experience
- University degree in Business management
- 5-7 years of experience in Sourcing with at least 2 yrs in a Indirect Procurement environment required
- Indirect spend management experience across key Marketing spend categories
- Demonstrated track record of understanding strategic sourcing with the ability to lead supplier negotiations, contracts and manage change processes cross functionally
- Exposure to Food or FMCG industries preferably in a ‘Regional Environment Setting ‘ involving stakeholders spread across multi locations
- Exposure to various sourcing courses including supplier management, negotiation & influencing
- Formal qualifications in Procurement is an advantage
- Proven negotiation experience with delivering savings from suppliers as well as influencing key internal stakeholders
- A consultative approach, ability to lead and work in various cross functional teams and effective collaboration with key suppliers
- Proven ability to connect business needs with latest industry trends and best practice
- Computer literacy in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to propose, champion and lead critical, demanding HMM (Holistic Margin Management) projects to completion
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and projects
