Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Sales to join our team and oversee our sales operations with a focus on the luxury and consortia markets. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans, managing a team of sales professionals, and working closely with other departments to ensure the hotel meets its revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth in the luxury and consortia markets. This involves identifying target markets, setting sales targets, and creating marketing campaigns to attract high-end customers.
  • Manage a team of sales professionals, providing leadership, coaching, and support to help them achieve their targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, including luxury travel agents, tour operators, and consortia groups.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop sales initiatives to drive revenue growth (groups’ & transients’ business). This includes attending industry events, networking, and building a strong reputation for your hotel.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and promotions that appeal to the luxury and consortia markets.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure the hotel remains competitive in the luxury and consortia markets. You will need to keep up to date with market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to help your hotel stay ahead of the competition. This involves conducting market research, analyzing data, and developing strategies to capitalize on emerging trends.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budget plans, owners’ presentations to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to sales strategy meetings as appropriate.
  • Participate in the creation, promotion, and implementation of sales promotions (Groups & Transients)
  • Negotiating contracts: You will need to negotiate contracts with clients and suppliers to ensure that the hotel’s revenue goals are met. This includes pricing, terms and conditions, and other aspects of the sale.
  • Provide regular sales reports to the DOSM and other stakeholders.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the hotel and build relationships with key accounts.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with hotel policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards, and are explicitly reported into SFA/Opera.
  • Handle customer service issues and, if necessary, escalate to appropriate manager,
  • Support the company’s service and relationship strategy, building customer loyalty through service excellence throughout each customer experience, Marriott Bonvoy.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the business,

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel sales, with a focus on the luxury and consortia markets.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and motivating a sales team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key accounts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with sales and CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
