TheFork is looking for a Software Engineering

Platform Domain

  • Platform domain is one of the 4 product & engineering domains which compose TheFork. The others domains are Restaurant Xp and Diners Xp, Internal Users Xp.
  • Platform domain is composed of QA, DevOps, SecOps, Architects, DevXp, Journey Enablers, and Core Market Place
  • Platform domain’s main responsibility is to
    1. empower engineers to confidently deliver solutions with quality, performance, and scalability.
    2. support the technical platform and its scalability
    3. Provide shared components and core capabilities

Core Market Place

We are building a brand new team to provide shared core business functional capabilities to be consumed by all tribes. This is including the core of our booking system: Reservations, Offers, Availabilities, Restaurant content, and even the developer portal to facilitate external connections

The team is not directly in charge of implementing the new features for the end user. Instead, in addition to its own projects, the team will support the “customer-facing” teams by providing new capabilities in the core components if something is missing, but also documentation & good practices.

What technologies are we using?

  • React & GraphQL for web front-end
  • NodeJS & Typescript (+ PHP / Symfony for a few legacy components) for back-end building a horizontally scalable microservice-based architecture to serve customers in 13 countries.
  • Storage is mostly handled by PostgreSQL & ElasticSearch
  • Domain events are propagated through RabbitMQ as an event bus
  • Our websites and servers are monitored with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK for 24×7 operations and ease of troubleshooting
  • We are 100% Kubernetes & AWS for orchestration & hosting

Who you are:

  • You have a solid technical background in web technologies (at least 8-10 years)
  • You are rigorous, dynamic & curious, equipped with an agile mindset and a strong team spirit that allow you to adapt to a changing environment
  • You have experience building software with a problem-solving approach leveraging customer inputs in an iterative manner (“Product Discovery”)
  • You understand writing code is not your only job, you are also able to challenge product and stakeholder decisions, you need to “think first” with some analysis pages, after the release, you are monitoring, writing documentation, and communicating about what is now available.
  • You have experience with architectural patterns of large-scale applications
  • You are comfortable writing and speaking in English
