Product Marketing at Docker is an exciting and dynamic role that works closely with product, sales, marketing, and customer success through all product lifecycle stages. Our team is a vibrant group of technologists, who obsess over finding ways to discover, position, message, package, and launch products in ways no one else does. In this role, you will lead Docker’s open source messaging strategy. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our open source initiatives and products are positioned correctly, excite developers, and form a cohesive story that our community, customers, and industry analysts understand.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute open source product and initiatives messaging strategy through internal and external channels
  • Create content for marketing campaigns, including blog posts, case studies, and third-party platforms
  • Create messaging and content for open source products and initiatives
  • Lead Foundation relationship management and marketing opportunities
  • Lead open source event marketing
  • Collaborate with our DevRel, engineering, and sales teams to ensure that our marketing campaigns are aligned with our community and business goals
  • Track and analyze marketing campaign results and make recommendations for improvement

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a deep technical knowledge of Docker and container technologies, and a proven track record of open source community engagement and relationship-building. You’ll need a relentless drive to help Docker take our content to the next level, and an eye for detail. Your long-term success will depend on your ability to work closely with Docker’s internal teams. Most importantly, you’ll need to be okay with taking ownership of big objectives with big goals, working autonomously, and maintaining a bias for action.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of open source community marketing experience
  • Strong understanding of container and developer tools
  • Experience with channels, partners, and marketplaces
  • Startup experience is a plus

  • Build alignment with Docker’s community, marketing, and product orgs
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our offerings
  • Develop an open source Foundation strategy

  • Run two open source community campaigns that contribute meaningfully to our pipeline
  • Source and create multiple open source-related customer stories
  • Align open source messaging across partners, channels, and marketplaces

EU Salary Range
55,000 EUR – 130,000 EUR (salary range can change if hired in at a different level)

 

CA/NY/ Boulder, CO & Denver, CO – $152,000 – $212,000

CO – $142,000 – $198,000
