The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.

JOB SUMMARY

The Front office manager organizes, structures, and supervises all the tasks that fall to the hotel’s reception. Highly guest satisfaction oriented, he/she ensures that the hotel’s guests’ stay runs smoothly.

MAIN TASKS

The job of Front office manager is mainly organized around the following missions:

Supervising the Front office team

  • Ensure the recruitment, coordinate the integration and training of new associates.
  • Establishing monthly schedules in accordance with legislation, checking employee attendance sheets, holiday requests, absence sheets, etc.
  • Preparing and conducting annual appraisal interviews in collaboration with human Resources cluster.
  • Organizing and conducting 15-minute training sessions.
  • Promote the development of associates’ skills.
  • Promote a benevolent manager, listening to your teams.
  • Ensure the proper transmission of information to the various departments (Accounting, HR, Management, etc.)
  • Be a relay of information from the management to your team (operational procedures, security, memos etc.)

Management and organization of Front office

  • Organize information meetings and ensure good communication of information to the team and other departments.
  • Collecting invoices, controlling payments, and daily closures.
  • Implementing and ensuring the application of reception procedures
  • Be responsible for all operations involving the customer at the reception: check-in, check-out, change, billing, dislodging, information etc.
  • Motivate and engage associates to achieve the “upsell” and “enrollment” objectives set by management
  • Define the expenses of the department according to the budget.

Front office:

  • Welcoming customers and dealing with any complaints
  • Organize overbookings
  • Ensure follow-up on groups in collaboration with the sales team
  • Coordinate the services offered with the various departments
  • Guarantee the application and respect of procedures and convey the image of the hotel and the group
  • Inform the customer about activities and new things to visit in the area

The list of these tasks is not exhaustive and may change depending on the organization and needs of the hotel.

MAIN SKILLS

To carry out his/her job in the best possible way, the Front office Manager must possess the following skills:

Technical and functional skills

  • Good presentation and elocution, adapting his/her welcome to the clientele
  • Be fluent in English and French
  • Mastery of the following computer tools: Opera, Word, Excel
  • Know and scrupulously respect the procedure relating to money management

Relational and behavioral skills:

  • Be smiling, dedicated
  • Manage with kindness, empathy, and respect
  • Demonstrate impartiality and fairness in management
  • Present yourself well (both verbally and physically)
  • Respect the instructions given by the management, the manager.
