Regulatory Operations Scientist I (Remote/ Hybrid)

What you’ll be doing:

We are seeking a Regulatory Operations Scientist I to join the Product Safety & Regulatory Operations group at Avon Products, Inc. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, possess leadership qualities and the ability to independently organize their workload and priorities to meet demands with minimal supervision.

Primary responsibilities include partnering with international regulatory colleagues to coordinate global raw ingredient compliance review and maintaining this information in associated database, maintaining updated raw ingredient specifications and negotiating specifications with suppliers and internal support groups as needed, providing day-to-day support to internal customers regarding ingredients, customs and product registrations, requests for data and other regulatory functions as necessary and providing support to team on various regulatory, safety and product stewardship driven projects.

Key responsibilities:

• B.S./B.A. degree in a biological, chemistry or related field
• 0-3 years of relevant experience supporting regulatory, safety, or other R&D function within the consumer products industry (cosmetics/personal care) preferred. Knowledge of chemical nomenclature and international cosmetic regulations a plus. 
• Excellent communication skills, ability to write clearly and concisely, excellent interpersonal skills to establish professional working relationships with colleagues and site personnel. 
• Must have attention to detail and ability to prioritize, think independently, implement solutions and meet timelines. 
• Good computer skills are essential. Must have expertise in working with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Access is a plus. 
• Must maintain a high degree of flexibility to support fluctuating projects and work streams within the department.
