Fraser Valley India (www.ufv.in) offers a Canadian pathway program that lead to University of the Fraser Valley’s (www.ufv.ca) Canadian degree programs. The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is nationally recognized in Canada for its commitment to teaching excellence. It offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs.

In this dynamic context, Fraser Valley India invites applications for International Visiting Faculty to deliver UFV’s academic courses at GGD SD College, Chandigarh, India, in the areas of Business Management, Business Law, English, Communications, and Computing Science and Computer Information Systems.

This position will commence by August, 2023, and will require residency in Chandigarh, UT, India during the Fall 2023 semester (August-December 2023) with a possible extension for the Winter 2024 semester (January-April, 2024).

Chandigarh, UT, India

Chandigarh is located in the province of Punjab in north India. It is a Union Territory (UT) as well as the state capital of both Punjab and Haryana. A modern planned city under the guidance of M.K. Sharma, Chief Architect of Punjab and Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier, Chandigarh is a metropolitan hub of India’s north. Population: 1,055, 450 (2011 census). Time from Delhi: 4 hours (by car or train); 1 hour (by plane).

Remuneration:

This position will be remunerated in line with the North American pay-scale and will include international travel, private guest-house accommodation, local transportation, and provision for meals.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline (PhD preferred).
  2. Minimum 2-3 years of post-secondary teaching experience is a requirement.
  3. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and current expertise in the topic areas.

Primary responsibilities includes but is not limited to the delivery of courses in the respective areas i.e.

  1. Business Management
  2. Business Law
  3. English
  4. Communications
  5. Computing Science and Computer Information Systems

In this area candidates are expected to be able to teach across a wide range of courses in the following areas across all levels:

  1. Software and Application Development
  2. Web Publishing, Database Management Systems
  3. System Hardware, and Network Security and Administration
