BASIC FUNCTIONS:
This position works as Assistant for Accounting, Finance and Taxes for the Newbuild Site Offices in Europe under RCL (UK) Ltd. – mainly but not solely for the Site Office at the shipyard in Saint Nazaire.
The position requires interaction with the local office administrators, corporate accounting and the tax department in the head office in Miami.
RESPONSIBILITIES
On a daily basis this position assists in
- proofing invoices and expense reports
- coding of invoices according to forecast
- obtaining proper approvals for processing the invoices
- invoice and payment processing of multi-currency invoices in the corporate bookkeeping
system (JD Edwards)
- invoice processing according to French GAAP (preparation for accounting firm)
- preparation of journal entries
- applying for new venders from address book department
- maintaining electronic document management system
- support in data analysis
On a monthly basis this position assists in
- support function for payroll accounting
- preparation of VAT returns for RCL (UK) Ltd. France (preparation for accounting firm)
Other tasks
- Ad-hoc support in tasks as given by supervisors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping, accounting, taxes and financial matters
- Knowledge of French GAAP and VAT
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Fluent English and French is required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Good mathematical skills are required as there are the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion and percentages. Good analytical skills are required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to sort and allocate facts and attributes to find the proper budget to charge. High noticeability is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.
Certified education as clerk or tax clerk and working experience not under 3 years in similar position is required.
WORK LOCATION:
Mainly working at the shipyard in Saint Nazaire, travelling should be possible 2 times per year for 3 to 5 days
