The Programme Planning Manager is a strategic forward planning role, working with the Director of Programming to plan the channel(s) within the relevant markets. This role is responsible for 13eme Rue France – utilising all programme inventories in a creative and cost-effective way, producing compelling monthly schedules (for the linear feed, and the On Demand Universal + platform) taking into account the best possible research and considering local market trends. The Programme Planning Manager the point of contact for all other departments for all scheduling issues relating to their specific channel(s).
Job Description
- Devise and deliver a competitive channel strategy and forward plan which is consistent with the brand
- Develop short to long term planning strategy, and produce excel monthly grids that are creative and competitive
- Plan and input linear and non-linear program grids from start to entry into the system (Landmark)
- Own, discuss, communicate and present channel plans at a range of forums: weekly one-to-one and team meetings, cross-departments meeting, calls with the Affiliates etc.
- Manage, execute and maintain a full and robust non-linear service, comprising of on-demand requirements, and specific systems, for all platforms. Ensure these schedules are in line with linear transmissions and with Affiliates / Clients contractual commitments.
- Develop ideas & concepts for the channel each month (e.g. weekends, stunts, strands, marathons and seasons around themes, calendar events etc.)
- Work closely with the Research, Marketing and Creative departments to ensure the schedules are fully supported
- Manage and maintain a programming inventory up to date and ensure a cost-efficient and creative allocation of resources
- Work with Ad sales/Marketing agencies in territory to ensure the schedules meet the market requirements
- Monitor closely key competitor’s activities and ratings
- Monitor and report linear and non-linear affiliate commitments
- Carries out ratings analysis and analysis of programme viewing
- Ensure Planning is within local regulatory guidelines. Produce and deliver the annual ARCOM reports for the Legal Department.
- Be the point of contact for all queries on the channel from Marketing, On-Air and Operations
- Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training

Qualifications
- Excellent English language skills is a necessity
- Experience of programme planning in France
- Experience of working within a broadcast environment
- Capable of understanding and interpreting audience research data
- Resilience to work towards firm deadlines
- Working knowledge of broadcast scheduling systems (Landmark preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills
- Passionate about TV
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Able to apply creative and strategic thinking to a TV channel brand
- A methodical approach and great attention to detail
- Able to work in a team as well as self-directed
