Postdoctoral Researcher, Artificial Intelligence (PhD) Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on topics in responsible AI, fairness, robustness, transparency and social impact of AI technologies.
- Contribute to understanding and auditing existing machine learning models using a range of techniques ranging from research surveys to algorithmic and technical developments.
- Write and debug high-quality research code and research papers.
- High quality papers and present research at conferences.
- Collaborate with your supervisor and other researchers to discuss, develop and implement research agenda
- Design and implement experiments to test research ideas on a variety of problems in responsible AI.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree or completing a postdoctoral assignment in Computer Science or a similar field, candidates with social science background who have demonstrated a deep technical knowledge in areas statistics and machine learning. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Research background in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Speech, Robotics, Graphics, or similar field. Deep interest in cross-disciplinary communication towards conducting research in socio-technical systems and responsible AI.
- Experience solving analytical problems using analytic and quantitative approaches.
- Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
- Experience coding in C/C++, Python, C#, or other similar language.
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, or fellowships, as well as publications in FAccT, AIES, *ACL, as well as affinity workshops at machine learning conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML).
- Research and engineering experience demonstrated via grants, fellowships, patents, internships, work experience, and/or coding competitions.
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, trade-offs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
- Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment.
