We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinery Superintendent to work in one of our new build sites. Position will be based in St.Nazaire. Successful candidate will be responsible for management and coordination of all machinery related work and ensure that all machinery areas conforms operational requirements. You would also need to provide substantial input to specific company projects and delivers project supervision with in-house sources, shipyards, site offices, suppliers and other contractors and consultants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follows and applies development in technology of above mentioned areas.
• Applies relevant rules and regulations in the development of cruise ship design and building, including evaluation of new technology.
• Participate inspections and factory acceptance test (FAT) during the building process. Participate approval process for quay and sea trial procedures.
• Capable to do FMECA, HAZIP/HAZOP or similar risk assessment studies and machinery feasibility studies.
• Ensure and participate vessel’s stability, watertight integrity, SRtP etc. design.
• Follow-up and reporting of building process.
• Follows and applies emission control technology.
• Develops Energy Saving and System’s performance.
• Develops optimized life cycle costs (LCC) procedure.
• Establishes studies and recommendations in equipment and design solutions for the various projects.
• Ensure that all innovations and lessons learned from existing fleet will be implemented on future new build projects.
• Participates in new build drawings, including makers and design approval process.
• Meets with potential makers and systems designers.
• Communicate with and support RCL fleet ships when found necessary.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Extensive experience of shipbuilding and from new building site surveys, especially from the own field of expertise.
• Ability to work under tight schedules.
• Capable to handle large systems and projects simultaneously.
• Ensure good and strong co-operation with yard and suppliers.
• Motivated to work ashore and in multicultural working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Adequate education, Chier Engineer unlimited licence, Mechanical Eng. or similar.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Marine Operations and/or Fleet.
• Good knowledge of rules and regulations of the classification societies, SOLAS, MARPOL and other necessary regulations.
• Excellent written & verbal English, other languages as advantage.
• Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with remote based colleagues.
• Excellent skills to read drawings.
• Relevant computer skills (excel, AutoCAD).
