POSITION SUMMARY

The ‘Manager, Revenue Analysis’ is responsible for maximizing revenue and profit associated with rooms and function space inventory across all customer segments and catering for all hotels in the Paris Shared Service Revenue Management Organization. The person provides analytical insights and performance monitoring to address critical business questions and drive tactical decisions in revenue management.

SCOPE

The ‘Manager, Revenue Analysis’ provides analytical support encompassing all participating Paris Shared Service hotels. In addition, Paris market expertise is shared with the wider EMEA Analytics team as well as technical insights and property needs.

Location requirement: Preferred location is Paris with flexible working. Offices are located at SPACES La Defense

Language requirements: High proficiency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is required, French is a plus.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Main contributions:

  • Conducts regular and ad-hoc analysis required to maximize room revenue and profit.
  • Develops and analyses tools and reports to identify trends, future need periods and obstacles to achieving goals.
  • Develops and manages key stakeholder relationships in a proactive manner including Market Leader and General Managers.
  • Communicates brand initiatives, demand and market analysis to Revenue Managers.
  • Ensures hotel strategies conform to brand philosophies and initiatives.
  • Provides training to the Revenue Management Team relating to analysis, tools and reports.
  • Participates in sales strategy meetings / call as required.
  • Supports and executes owner reporting for key ownership groups and management companies in the UK.
  • Optimises and produces reporting and analysis by enhancing existing SQL code and implementing stakeholder feedback on existing Tableau reports.
  • 20% non analytic work such as Revenue Management Operation tasks.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

A successful ‘Manager, Revenue Analysis’ will have a passion for analysis to promote Revenue maximisation. They should be able to work with data to provide strategic direction to stakeholders, turning data into recommendations focused on achieving business priorities in a dynamic business environment. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate the core skills required for the position that follow:

  • Revenue Management – Knowledge of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes and strategies (including sales cycles and trends, account management, pricing, and inventory management).
  • Mathematics – Using mathematics to solve problems.
  • Economics and Accounting – Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting and scheduling, and the reporting of financial data.
  • Sales and Marketing – Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Advanced Computer Skills – Skilled in using analytical programs such as Excel and Tableau. Ability to create and maintain complex Excel Spreadsheets and databases. Knowledge of conducting researching via Internet Browser and data mining.
  • Originality – The ability to develop creative ways to solve a problem or communicate a strategy.

Education and Professional Certification:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline (e.g. finance, operations research, economics, or statistics), is preferred. Can be substituted for relevant experience and achievements.

Technical skills and knowledge:

  • 2 years of professional experience, demonstrating a pattern of exceptional performance in analytical positions in the travel industry
  • MS Excel (required, advanced)
  • Visual Basic for Applications (preferred, intermediate)
  • SQL knowledge (preferred)
  • Tableau or Power BI knowledge (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of sales distribution systems (Marriott.com, voice, GDS, OTAs), revenue management systems (HPP, MARSHA, One Yield, etc.), and revenue strategy
