Position Summary: 
Under the direction of the Florida Trucking Association President/ CEO, the incumbent in this position is responsible for:  

Planning, organizing, and implementing the production of the Association’s publications and materials, and collaborating and working with the entire spectrum of program areas within FTA to promote, foster and enhance the professional image, credibility, and visibility of the Association;
Writing newsletters, articles, and other member and public information materials that keep FTA Members informed about the issues affecting the industry;
Create marketing materials for internal and external communications
Performing other related professional duties as directed by the FTA President/CEO.

Key Functions of the Position: 

Responsible for designing, preparing, and distributing Member communications including, but not limited to, FTA Dispatch (weekly and/or as needed electronic newsletter); member alerts; meeting notices; postcards; and other communications pieces, both in electronic and/or print production;
Coordinate with publishing house for creation of magazine (Florida Truck News- 3 issues/year)
Responsible for developing correspondence, comment letters, fact sheets, talking points, press releases, and other pertinent informational materials;
Responsible for staying abreast and updated on issues affecting the trucking and transportation industry for the purpose of preparing and providing timely, concise, and useful information to FTA Members;
Responsible for coordinating media relations, outreach, and public information activities to promote the visibility and professional image of the Association;
Responsible for developing content and format for FTA meeting event programs and materials;
Responsible for scheduling and developing access to educational programs and activities for the Association to include webcasts, conference calls, online training classes and other forms of educational opportunities for the FTA membership;
Responsible for working with FTA Members and responding to member inquiries and questions, and providing technical support and assistance to meet member needs;
Responsible for assisting in the content development for the FTA website, and working to ensure that posted content remains current and accurate;
Responsible for providing communication-related staff support to FTA Boards, Councils, and Committees;
Responsible for managing and tracking social media regarding issues of interest and concern to FTA, utilizing social media to benefit FTA;
Responsible for seeking out and partnering with graphic designers, photographers, video producers and other entities on media productions and/or campaigns related to the trucking and transportation industry;
Attend and support FTA events (Florida Truck Driving Championships, Annual Conference, Fall Round-Up and others, as needed);
Responsible for performing other duties as assigned by the FTA President & CEO.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree;
Proven ability to function as team member and promote team development and building skills with co-workers;
Outstanding written and verbal communication and editing skills;
Good public presence and the ability to interact with many types of people at different levels;
Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office, graphic design programs (Canva) and other relevant computer software applications;
Knowledge of Social Media;
A strategic thinker and the ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and accomplish short- and long-term deadlines.
